WHO DOES BUSINESS in Rockford.
Restaurants and bars are the most concentrated of these businesses in the Rockford metro: 203 for every 100,000 residents, and their share of local businesses is 1.12 times the national share. The chart compares each sector’s share of Rockford-area business locations with its share nationally (a location quotient). 1.00× matches the US; higher means the sector is more concentrated here. County Business Patterns 2023.
New buildings mean new properties to lease and new businesses to open. Census Building Permits Survey, August 2026.
Builders in the Rockford metro were authorized to build 200 new housing units from January through August 2026, 14% more than the 175 in the same months of 2025.
0% of those units are in buildings with five or more homes, against 32% nationally.
Most new construction here is single-family. New subdivisions and the shopping centers that follow them need leasing and community websites as each phase opens.

What this means for your site
BUILT FOR Rockford.
What we would plan into a Rockford website, based on the numbers above.
Housing permits are up 14% over the same months last year. Each new project needs a name, a site plan, and a pre-leasing page, and the retail around it usually follows.
02
Illinois license details
Brokerage websites in Illinois carry specific disclosure requirements (225 ILCS 454/10-30; 68 Ill. Adm. Code 1450.715, 1450.720, and 1450.725(c)). We build them into the footer and listing templates, so every page that advertises a property has them.
03
Accessible by default
Every site we build follows WCAG 2.2 AA practice: readable contrast, keyboard navigation, labeled forms, and text alternatives for images. Federal ADA website lawsuits run into the thousands each year, most of them filed in New York, Florida, and Illinois.
Illinois rules
WHAT THE LAW asks of your site.
State rules that change what goes on a business or real estate website in Illinois, checked against official sources as of October 9, 2026. This is general information, not legal advice; your counsel owns the final wording.
Worth knowing Illinois had 585 federal website accessibility lawsuits in 2025 in Seyfarth Shaw's count, the third most of any state, and UsableNet's 2026 midyear report page says Illinois has moved into second place.
Illinois has not enacted a comprehensive consumer data privacy law as of October 9, 2026. This reflects published state privacy-law trackers. Privacy laws in other states, and federal rules, can still apply when a site collects data from their residents.
Real estate advertising
What an Illinois brokerage site must show
225 ILCS 454/10-30 (source P.A. 103-236, eff. Jan. 1, 2024); 68 Ill. Adm. Code 1450.715 (amended 49 Ill. Reg. 9512, eff. July 7, 2025), 1450.720 (amended 45 Ill. Reg. 2851, eff. Feb. 23, 2021), and 1450.725(c) Source
Illinois requires the sponsoring broker's business name and the licensee's name in all advertising, with the sponsoring broker's name at least equal in size to any team or individual name, and a sponsored licensee may not advertise under his or her own name. Website, digital platform, and social media advertising must also show the city and state of the sponsoring broker's registered office or a direct link to its virtual office.
What the website needs
The sponsoring broker's business name and the name of the licensee must appear in all advertisements, including business cards (225 ILCS 454/10-30(f)).
When advertising includes the sponsoring broker's name and a team name or individual broker's name, the sponsoring broker's business name must be at least equal in size or larger than the team or individual name (225 ILCS 454/10-30(f)).
A logo is not part of the sponsoring broker's name unless it contains the name, and the size test is met if the broker's name uses letters as large or larger, occupies an area as large or larger, or appears in a logo as large or larger than the team or individual name (68 Ill. Adm. Code 1450.715(b)).
Advertising by a sponsored licensee must be in the sponsoring broker's business name, which for a franchise must include the franchise affiliation as well as the name of the individual firm (225 ILCS 454/10-30(d)).
A licensee advertising real property on a website, digital platform, or social media must show the licensee's name as licensed (a team name may be substituted), the city or area and state where the property is located, the sponsoring broker's name, the city and state of the sponsoring broker's registered office or a direct link to its virtual office, and any other jurisdictions where the licensee is licensed if not licensed where the property sits (68 Ill. Adm. Code 1450.720(d)).
Title III of the ADA covers businesses open to the public, but the Department of Justice has no regulation that sets a technical standard for private business websites. DOJ's web guidance says businesses have flexibility in how they make their websites accessible and points to WCAG as a helpful existing technical standard. Federal appeals courts have not agreed on when a website is covered, so a website's legal status can depend on where a lawsuit is filed and whether the site is connected to a physical location. Illinois has no separate website accessibility statute for private businesses in our research, so WCAG 2.2 AA is the practical target.
What the website needs
For public agencies only: Illinois Information Technology Accessibility Act. The Act requires the Illinois Department of Human Services to develop and publish accessibility standards for the electronic and information technology of state entities. State entities include the executive, legislative, and judicial branches, their agencies, and public universities, but not units of local government, school districts, or community colleges.
What we design
FOR ROCKFORD businesses.
Ordered by how concentrated each kind of business is in the Rockford metro. We design for every kind of business.
We own ten homes at Casa De Laguna and were still sending people to a site built in 2013. Noah pulled the photos and details out of the old site, designed a logo from the rooflines and the pond, and put the community, the homes and current availability in one place. It’s the first time the website has looked like the place we actually rent.
