Choosing help

An AI course or personal guidance: which do you need?

Compare learning general AI concepts with working through your own business, questions, and decisions with an advisor.

Overview

Choose the format around what you need to understand and the outcome you want to leave with.

Start with the kind of question you have

If you want a general introduction at your own pace, a course may be a useful place to learn vocabulary and see examples. You can revisit a lesson and build familiarity before discussing a business decision.

If your question is “what does this mean for the way my business operates?”, personal guidance has a different job. Someone needs to understand your work, ask follow-up questions, and adapt the examples to your situation.

Neither format is automatically the right choice. A business owner may want both at different stages, or may only need a short conversation to decide where to begin.

What personal guidance should include

Before paying for an engagement, ask what the provider will learn about your business, how the walkthrough will be tailored, and what you will receive afterward. “AI strategy” is too vague on its own to tell you what you are buying.

  • A clear scope and agreed price.
  • Time to explain how your business works.
  • Relevant examples and room for questions.
  • An explanation of limitations and tradeoffs.
  • Written recommendations you can refer to later.

Ask whether implementation is required

You should know whether the advice stands on its own or is mainly a route into a larger build. Ask whether the provider can recommend waiting, using an existing tool, or making a simpler process change.

If there is a proposed implementation, treat it as a separate decision. Request its scope, cost, responsibilities, and review process. You should not need to buy software to find out whether the initial guidance was useful.

How Endcap approaches it

We help business owners understand useful opportunities and carry out the work. You can start with a free 30–45 minute consultation about your business, tools, and challenges.

We discuss a few practical ideas and send a short follow-up with suggested next steps. You can use the ideas yourself or with your team. We may recommend an existing tool, a simpler process, or deciding that AI is not needed.

If you would like our help, we can prepare a proposal. Deeper research, detailed planning, and implementation have an agreed scope and price before that work begins. There is no obligation to hire us.

Our business consulting and product work provide practical experience behind the advice. Request a free consultation to discuss your business.

Examples are illustrative unless a named case study is linked. This guide explains Endcap’s approach; specific tools and settings should be checked when you use them.
